Bringing Comedy to the Streets

Inspired by my recent NYC adventures, I wanted to share something that is truly New York and truly awesome.

Improve Everywhere, as described on their website, "is a New York City-based prank collective that causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places. Created in August of 2001 by Charlie Todd, Improv Everywhere has executed over 100missions involving tens of thousands of undercover agents."
They put together "missions" where they organize ridiculous scenes or flash mobs that catch everyone by surprise.  Likely you've heard about their No Pants Subway Ride where Subway passengers lack pants in the middle of winter and this past January was their 10th annual ride and also their Even Better than the Real Thing fake U2 rooftop concert.

One you should definitely check out is a Carousel Horse Race taking place in Bryant Park from earlier this summer using actors and ..well.. real children:

I recommend you check out: Spontaneous Musicals and Suicide Jumper but there are soooo many more so be sure to go through them all!
