Old Music Tuesday: Glee Mash-ups

While watching the Michael Jackson episode I was reminded of how awesome the Thriller / Heads Will Roll mashup was.  So seeing that it is Tuesday I will share some of my favorite mash-ups!

Thriller / Heads Will Roll (Michael Jackson / Yeah Yeah Yeahs): Like I said, inspiring.

Someone Like You / Rumor Has It (Adele): At first I was like meh already over these songs BUT then my two favorite singers on this show just kill it, its a whole new awesomeness.

Anyway You Want It / Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin (Journey): I can't remember (slash don't feel like looking it up) if they won but this mash-up was definitely worthy of it.  Sometimes the singers make these songs awesome (see above) but the actual mashing upness here is seriously skilled.

Don't Stand So Close To Me / Young Girl (The Police / Gary Puckett and the Union Gap):  Sometimes I feel like Matthew Morrison (and his character) may be a little tooo in love with himself BUT this song kind of just sounds like it...oh well it is grand.

Survivor / I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor / Destiny's Child): I would be ecstatic if from here on out only the girls sang on Glee because Naya Rivera and Amber Riley have the most incredible voices (and obviously the other girls are extremely talented as well).

Things Left Behind and Things Found

Things Left Behind:
A blog called Things We Forget leaves inspiring post-it notes from Singapore to NYC
With 798 post left all over the world (mostly Singapore but a few in places like France, Indonesia, the US, Spain) this website is an inspiring way to waste time.
Here are a few gems:

Now for things FOUND!
Found Magazine is a collection of random pictures, notes and other random little things found anywhere from the street, on a windshield, in a drawer from someone else's life.  Each found item has a little blurb of how it was found.
Here are a few great finds:

If you haven't found it yet, keep looking.  Don't settle.  As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it.  And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on.  -Steve Jobs

Happy Football!

Apparently there are some serious football fans in NJ...even without a Jersey team:
As seen on http://westfield.patch.com/articles/clark-giants-fan-boasts-ultimate-lawn-display#video-8945110
See above link for a video about the making of this obnoxious front yard display of Giants love.

Anyone else wondering what this guy's wife thinks?

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline.  It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer. -Frank Zappa

Old Music Tuesday: Bad Music 2011

For this old music Tuesday I feel I can now use songs from 2011 because that is now old.  And because I always serenade you with horrible music here are some of the worst things I was forced to listen to in 2011.

Rebecca Black - My Moment:  Obviously Friday was horrible but THIS song is even worse.  If you can't sing you cannot make a ballad...at least Friday was catchy.

Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand: I feel like an old gramps complaining about music these days...but I just don't get how this can be considered music.  And of all people's names to use...I don't feel like wasting any more brain power on this.  Their song Big Bad Wolf is worse and more pointless but the music video is too gross so you'll have to deal with this one instead.

Brad Paisley - Don't Drink the Water: I can't remember if it was on a results show for The Voice or America's Got Talent...but this summer I had to listen to this crap.  First of all it is country music.  Second of all it is the worst concept ever: water is bad in Mexico so drink alcohol.... (maybe better than singing about tractors)

Hot Chelle Rae - Tonight, Tonight:  Writing this song must have taken all of five seconds, the tune may be catchy (just because it gets stuck in your head does not make it a good song) but the lyrics are so worthless I could cry..I mean blah whatever blah blah it doesn't matter...

Chris Brown - ANYTHING BY CHRIS BROWN: I will focus my attention on Look at Me Now because he is pretty much saying look at me now even though I beat up my girlfriend and am a horrible excuse for a human being I'm still making bank.  See also Strip and Wet the Bed for gross crappy songs.

Dishonorable mention: Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling: Because for some reason radio stations still think this song is new...

I don't even drink!  I can't stand the taste of alcohol.  Every New Year's Eve I try one drink and every time it makes me feel sick.  So I don't touch booze--I'm always the designated driver. - Kim Kardashian
