Thursday Radio Roundup: Rich and Famous Window Dilemma

Sorry for this long holiday hiatus but finding the best songs for you takes a lot of work.  I clearly put a lot of effort into this post too...as it is a Thursday Radio Roundup, I simply listened to the radio.  It is a rough life I live.

Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland - Dilemma : Welcome to Nellyville!  I am in love with you but I have a boyfriend and even though I know you are into me I am going to sing this song instead of break up with my boyfriend and be with you-end scene.

Melissa Etheridge - Come to My Window : Come to my window, la la la lalalala la la la. Clearly I don't know many words to this song.  The music video features Juliette Lewis, who looks crazy familiar but after checking her out on IMDB I couldn't figure out what in particular I recognized her for.

Good Charlotte - Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous: The cute brother and the scary one, kind of like Hanson...(except with Hanson they were all both cute and scary).  There are a few famous people in the music video but I obviously only recognized the guy from 'N Sync.

I personally think you can have a rich and full life with no abs.  Abs are for wimps. - Rachel McAdams

Old Music Tuesday: What Would You Do Where

Boys and girls want to hear a true story---here are some super catchy songs with super heavy lyrics.  So either ignore the words and jam out or take a serious listen to the lyrics...   Just enjoy.
Disclaimer:  Sorry this week is Chanukkah and I do not have that much time so I only have two songs this week but they are special songs!

City High - What Would You Do: ..If your son was at home...hold up, what would you do, get up off my feet...  I am singing along--realizing I know too many words for such a serious song for how not old I was then...  for me this is what I call life mm-mmm.

Black Eyed Peas - Where is the Love: If you only have love for your own race then you only leave space to discriminate--this just got real.  Remember how legit their lyrics were...and then they sang My Humps.  Where is the love ya'll?  Apparently it got lost in my humps.

I don't know where I'm going from here, but I know it won't be boring. - David Bowie

Old Music Tuesday: The Fresh Prince's Bizarre Lullaby

Now this is a post all about how my Tuesday got me dancing all around, so I'd like you to take a minute and just sit right there and watch some videos from a time called the 90s.....     Just a random sampling of tunes, I hope you enjoy!

DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - Parents Just Don't Understand:  This past week was my cousin's birthday and he LOVES The Fresh Prince.  So I wanted to give him a shout-out in a way he'd appreciate like bell-bottomed Brady Bunch trousers.

Shawn Mullins - Lullaby:  You know it is going to be a good song when he starts it off by talking...he doesn't actually sing until a whole minute into the song.  The chorus is so good his talking makes it such a waste of a good song.  I promise you'll recognize the chorus (assuming you listened to the radio in the 1990's).

OMC - How Bizarre:  This song is horrible, I don't even like it a little and because of that I was apprehensive to include this song.  BUT I just found out the word they say in this song is "bizarre" and now you know.

Eve 6 - Inside Out:  Want to put my tender heart in a blender.  This music video kind of makes me crave fast foods and want to go roller skating.  The band name supposedly references an episode of the X-Files, thanks Wikipedia.

And that shows that there are three hundred and sixty-four days when you might get un-birthday presents. - Through the Looking Glass

Old Music Tuesday: Storm Edition

So between Sandy and Athena (the storm, not my friend) I have fallen behind on my posts.  I tried to write a post on my phone while we had no power for the week but that clearly failed.  Anyways let's try to forget this mess-by listening to songs about storms? Okay I may not have thought this out too well but here it goes...

Something Corporate - Hurricane: "So pull me under your weather patterns your cold fronts and the rain don't matter because a sunburns what I needed."  I clearly am not making a glorious 90's post...this is just a few rando songs that seem stormy.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Snow (Hey Oh):  I was going to do Storm in a Teacup but then I wouldn't have any songs for Athena (the blizzard, not my friend)!  Heyooo..

The Kooks - Stormy Weather: I keep singing You Don't Love Me instead of this song.  I can never remember which of their songs are which.

Counting Crows - Rain King:  Okay so this is definitely a stretch but I just love this song so much.  I belong anywhere but in between...these stormz.

I actually have all of these songs on my iTunes, which isn't usually the case.  This also isn't a usual post.

I can sketch up a storm, and I'm very involved in how clothes are constructed, but I have a short attention span. - Michael Kors

Old Music Tuesday: Heaven, Angels, and Samantha Mumba

So many songs from the 90s that I never knew who sung them-obviously anyone older than me likely knows who sings all of these songs.  But here is some classic Old Music Tuesday.

Robbie Williams - Angels:  And through it allllll she offers me protection a lot of love and affection whether I'm right or wronggg.  I will stop singing for you now, see below for my audio recording.  -Calm down, I was kidding.  Apparently he was HUGE in the UK but this song is huge in my heart...

Samantha Mumba - Gotta Tell You: This song is also moving, but in a different way-in the shake that on the dance floor kind of way.  Gotta love a good chair dance that leads to floor humping.

Pearl Jam - Last Kiss: I guess I'm going back to this heaven theme by accident.  I had no idea this song was by Pearl Jam...probably because it isn't...it was written by Wayne Cochran but covered by my 11th grade English teacher's favorite band.  He would put quotes from Eddie Vedder on the top of all our major assignments.  Anyways here is a a picture of clouds with the song's audio...

Old Music Tuesday: Presidents & Garbage

Okay so I am a tad too distracted by The Voice the debates to spend the time Old Music Tuesday deserves.  So I wanted to leave you with all the garbage these presidential candidates be bringing (that is a joke based on the two songs I have selected).  Anyways I just really wanted to post these two songs and that was all I had time for...

Presidents of the United States - Peaches: Movin to the country gonna eat a lot of peaches....  Yeah.  This is what the presidential debates should focus on: whether or not peaches should be free..

Garbage - I Think I'm Paranoid:  Such a good grunge, maybe I will put her in my binders full of women.  Just playing, I'm too paranoid..

Sorry for the weaksauce post tonight.  I didn't want to leave you without some old music Tuesday and it is getting down to the wire.

I don't find any presidents all that sexy.  They're not very rock'n'roll.  - Carmen Electra

Old Music Tuesday: BREAKUP SONGS

All my single ladies (and gents) put your hands up!  It feels like the right time to look back to the 90s (and early 2000s) for some classic and/or ridiculous breakup songs.  So fasten your seatbelts and let us fast forward to the end of a relationship (or rewind to the 90s).

2ge+her - The Hardest Part of Breaking Up: ..is getting back your stuff.  One of the best 90s boy bands wasn't even real--created for a MTV movie then a TV show and had some of the greatest slash cheesiest songs.  So check out one of the best of their songs (don't worry I promise to return to them in another post and talk about the adorable QT).

Alanis Morissette - You Oughta Know:  Where else can you go but Alanis for the best breakup shouting.  Aww Joey from Full House...well he thinks the song is about him but Alanis may never tell.

Hilary Duff - So Yesterday:  Not the angriest of songs but leave it to Lizzie McGuire to tell it like it is.  If you're over me I'm already over you.  No shame, I am singing along right now.

Ben Folds Five - Song for the Dumped:  Give me money back you bitch...  this one really hits home for a friend of mine...  So anyways Ben Folds always knows how to capture a moment.  He is also a judge on the Sing-Off --just like Shawn Stockman who was on last Tuesday's post.

Blu Cantrell - Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops):  I wanted to start and end with THE BEST SONGS EVER.  Kay so at least the best songs for this post--you may have forgotten about this greatness but please take a listen.  You will remember it and get up and sing along.

Hope you enjoyed getting your breakup on.

There is one thing I would break up over, and that is if she caught me with another woman.  I won't stand for that. - Steve Martin
