Battle of the Pop Princesses

Old Music Tuesday: Britney versus Christina: the better pop star versus the better voice..
Competing for attention on both the Mickey Mouse Club and Star Search..
Battle of the Blondes..
Britney's first singles have ellipses while Christina's are way too sexual for ten year old me (Britney's are too but not nearly as obvious)..

Anyways, I am continuing the most overplayed pointless rivalry of the 90s,
-deal with it.

Seriously though, playing these songs while watching the Olympics makes swimming and gymnastics so much more exciting.

Britney Spears - Sometimes: Sometimes I run, sometimes I hide but I ALWAYS love this song.  This was my favorite BSpears song for the longest time and I absolutely hung up the poster that came with the CD on my wall.

Christina Aguilera - Come On Over (All I Want is You):  My sister and I obviously made up a routine to this song for our make believe dance class (TMI, sorry).  Just think of how great the world was when we could wear stick on rhinestones... Thank you Claire's.

Britney Spears - Lucky:  This is a story about a girl named Lucky...  I totally saw Making the Video, my favorite MTV show (second was Cribs when they actually had someone I heard of) for Lucky.  Between this video/song and Everytime, how could we not have expected her to have such an insane breakdown.  Also CHECK OUT THAT CELL PHONE.

Christina Aguilera - I Turn to You: This song and Reflection (from my favorite Disney princess Mulan) were likely my most played and most sung as a young thing.  (I was obsessed with the bridge from Reflection-you were obviously wondering).

Britney Spears - (You Drive Me) Crazy: Oh hello there Adrian Grenier.  So before Entourage he was in this horribly great movie with Melissa Joan Hart called Drive Me Crazy and this music video!

Christina Aguilera - What a Girl Wants:  Yup, I still know ALL the words to this song.  Such a good one (and an awesome Amanda Bynes movie of the same name..) .  I would definitely enjoy music like this now, I won't take it personally if you lose all respect for me immediately.

So who won?

I think everybody should have a great Wonderbra.  There's so many ways to enhance them, everybody does it. - Christina Aguilera

Monica Fastballs Tal Bachman

By now you should know if I'm posting on Tuesday...it is an Old Music Tuesday post because you obviously are a loyal fan who creeps on my blog every Tuesday and cries when I don't have time to post (I see the blog views and have accepted this is not the case).

Fastball - The Way: I was looking for a CD for a concert I am seeing and found a blank CD that I was hoping would be it.  It wasn't but had an assortment of FABULOUS guilty pleasures.  Including this 90s favorite (These songs are usually always 90s favorites).

Monica - Angel of Mine: The Boy is Mine is the best song ever and I may have performed a lip sync to it in middle school (I was obviously Brandy).  BUT since it was on Glee I feel like people remember it too well so here is another GREAT Monica song I'm hoping you forgot about...until now.

Tal Bachman - She's So High:  This song is great. That is all I know.  Apparently he made a guest appearance at a Taylor Swift concert last year.  OK, now that is all I have.

I am an over-achiever, and I want to be known for the good things in my life. - Taylor Swift
