Yes, it is STILL Chanukah...SONGS

Seeing as I had to listen to Christmas songs in every car, store, and even at Chinese food restaurants on Christmas Eve where all of the customers were visibly Jewish...  I feel that it is appropriate to mention that your holiday is now over and Chanukah is still going strong!  So now I will share some of the songs of mah peeps...

Adam Sandler's Hanukah song, yes there is more than one part and no I did not post them all...too lazy:

Embarrassing or awesome...you decide...baby, I light it:

Chanukah +Taio Cruz = this glorious work of Jewish art:

Jon Stewart teaches Colbert about Chanukah:

and finally South Park's It's Hard to be a Jew on Christmas, you all just don't understand:

And here is a long list of famous Jews: http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/stars-david-a-listers-chanukah-gallery-1.8186

And as an added bonus a song not about Chanukah but about being Jewish...just a warning it is kind of uncomfortable..

Websites to Not Get you into the Holiday Spirit

To help you get in the holiday spirit (or maybe stir you away from it) I want to wish you a happy Dec 22nd or National Date Nut Bread Day!
Because obviously this is the best carb holiday all year round and is celebrated according to this list of strange/mostly worthless holidays.   It is also Chanukah...but who pays any attention to that!?

And now for some more awkward holidayness:

Here are two sites with weird gifts and now for some of my favorites:
About.com's Weird Holiday Gift Guide was actually pretty tame
except for the best thing ever:
for all the small chested ladies out there who like a good drink!

and for the king of all geeks, the geekiest throne of all:
who doesn't want to sit on Captain Kirk's chair..(ME)

From marieclaire.com's list of weird holiday gifts:
Obviously they ALSO had the best gift ever...the wine lover's sports bra!!
But on a more original note: a cat in a can!
and yes I totally know someone who could've used this gem to help her get through college ; )

And from Huffington Post's Canada (who lives in Canada? ..besides the bieb) gifts that were actually given, my favorite is the bedazzled toilet brush for the girl who has everything...bedazzled!

And now that we are really in the Christmas holiday spirit, here are some freakish holiday pictures that obviously have nothing to do with my holiday but everything to do with that other holiday that everyone else celebrates:

buzzfeed.com gives a top 20 list of extremely uncomfortable holiday pics:
Including these magic numbers:

Too much nudity:

WAY TOO MUCH NUDITY:

TOO MANY FREAKIN ANIMALS!!!!

San Francisco's Chronicle's SFgate.com has some repeats but adds to the awkward glory:

Totally normal:
The folks at Awkward Family Photos have done it again, th...

Santa forgot to watch out for the reindeer's hooves...or maybe his drug dealer?
Looks like this mall Santa might have taken a right hook ...

And again WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE NUDITY:
You get the idea that this was Dad's dumb idea that every...

Happy Chanukah and have a merry whatever that other holiday is!
Whereas the human version of Hanukkah is a sacred traditi...

Tommy: I don't get it. We've looked everywhere.
Phil: It's hard to find the meanie of Chanukah.

Playing with Fire ...and Google

Oh the weird things we do as a family...

A few family gatherings ago we tried a trick that we heard about where you can relight a candle without touching the light of the match to the wick.  (The video below shows and explains how it works..) Basically we did this a ton of times and also repeated it this past Thanksgiving..

Later my cousin showed us a different kind of trick...

This one involved my sister's laptop and the search engine Google:
You may have seen some or all of these before but I thought they were super cool.
Try them first and then scroll down to see what they do (it is more fun if you do not know what to expect)
Sometimes they are a little testy so when you type it and it doesn't work at first, run the mouse over the drop down selections and "I'm Feeling Lucky" will appear, click that and it should work.

1.Go to Google and search "do a barrel roll"
2.This time type "Google Gravity" (this one worked best for me only after selecting "I'm Feeling Lucky")
3.Now try "askew" (this one should work right away)

Those were the ones my cousin showed me but here is a website that has a few more that are fun/super geeky.  Including typing "chuck norris" and selecting "I'm Feeling Lucky":

SPOILER ALERT
1.The text on the screen rolls around!
2.Did you see all the pieces fall? Now did you play with them? Go back and do this one again because you can actually throw around the pieces that have fallen down!
3.Took me a second to notice this one but look again and it is tilted!

ENJOY!
